Electric Features Inside the 2024 Subaru Solterra

Zero Emissions from the 2024 Subaru Solterra

Subaru is already popular with drivers who care about the environment, so adding an electrified SUV to the lineup makes sense. The 2024 Subaru Solterra is a battery-electric SUV that rides like a typical Subi vehicle. The attractive, rugged, and durable EV comes loaded with features Subaru drivers expect, like Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and standard EyeSight Driver-Assist Technology. At Villages Subaru, conveniently located near Tavares and Fruitland Park, our friendly and knowledgeable sales team can show you the benefits of driving an electrified Subaru.

Powering the Solterra with Electricity

The Solterra gets its power from two electric motors - one atop each axle. Those motors are powered by a 72.8-kWh battery pack. The range depends on the trim, so the Premium gets an EPA-estimated range of 227 miles, while the Limited and Touring models have an EPA-estimated range of 222 miles. The electric motors combine to produce 215 horsepower and 249 lb-ft of torque with a zero-to-60 time of 6.5 seconds.

The electric vehicle architecture can handle three charging levels. Plugging into a household outlet (Level 1) takes several days to fill the battery. With a Level 2 outlet, the Solterra uses the onboard 6.6-kW charger to fill the battery in about nine hours. At a 100-kW DC charger, the Solterra needs about 35 minutes to fill to 80 percent. Like other EVs, the Subaru Global Platform charging depends on the charging station’s capability and the weather.

Subaru includes four drive modes in the Solterra: Eco, Normal, Power, and X-mode. Drivers can use X-mode in cold weather for better control in slippery conditions. X-mode also helps the Solterra with traction on uneven terrain. Subaru gave the Solterra 8.3 inches of ground clearance for trails and uneven terrain. Drivers can also adjust the power using regenerative braking, a feature unique to vehicles with electric powertrains. Regenerative braking helps extend the battery range, and Solterra drivers adjust it using steering wheel paddles.

Technology in the Subaru Solterra

All Subaru vehicles come with a suite of active safety technology. The entry-level Premium trim comes with Emergency Steering Assist, Intersection Assist, Lane-Departure Warning, Lane-Keep Assist, Blind-Spot Monitoring, Pedestrian Detection, Forward and Reverse Automatic Emergency Braking, and Adaptive Cruise Control. This system uses radar and cameras to monitor traffic, keeping drivers, passengers, and pedestrians safe.
