Powering the Subaru Forester

All Subaru Forester trim levels come with the legendary 2.5-liter flat-four Subaru Boxer engine. This engine delivers 182 HP and 176 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a Lineartronic CVT transmission and Subaru symmetrical all-wheel drive.

The four-door SUV seats five with ample space. With the rear seats upright, the Forester has 28.9 cubic feet of space. With the seats lowered, the cargo area increases to 74.2 cubic feet. Subaru includes a manual liftgate, but a power liftgate is available on most trims.
